Culture, forests and civic change

Peace as public record

The 1986 Accord is read clause by clause alongside implementing laws and institutional changes. Its anniversary is commemoration, not proof that every later dispute is resolved.

Living culture

Mizo, Lai, Mara, Chakma, Bru and other communities have distinct languages and institutions. Cheraw, festivals, church and civil-society organisations are not treated as a single uniform tradition.

Forests and biodiversity

Dampa Tiger Reserve, Murlen and Phawngpui national parks, bamboo landscapes and river systems retain distinct notified boundaries. Forest-cover estimates are dated assessments.

Migration and borders

Myanmar and Bangladesh borders shape trade, refuge, security and kinship. Refugee and internally displaced populations are labelled by source, legal category and reporting date.

Audits and public accountability

CAG State Finances, compliance, performance and local-body reports are tied to audited periods and government replies. Roads, power, public enterprises, grants and district councils require report-level evidence.

Peace-process claims, audit observations, allegations, investigations and judicial findings remain separate categories.
